What We Do

Christ Universal Church is not a building, denomination or organization, but a living body of believers. Our Cell Churches meet from house to house, at parks, restaurants in the marketplace or wherever two or three are gathered in His name. This allows believers to participate in the life of the Church and not be just another face in the crowd or a name on a membership roster, and you don't have to worry about whether someone is watching to see if you are attending church services or not... It's not about that!

Our focus is on building people, not buildings which allows us to keep our focus where it needs to be... (1) loving God, (2) loving one another and (3) loving the lost. This is how the church grows spiritually, geographically and numerically. The goal of our cell churches is not to become big, but to multiply. Ideally cell churches would have no more than 12 members, because we want to keep the focus on building close knit relationships and that is best done in small groups of 12 or less.

"For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them

Understanding Church

We must recognize that the concept of Church was determined in the mind of God before the foundation of the world; before man and woman (Eph. 1:9; 3:10-1), because God has always had His called out ones. The concept and understanding of this instrument of our Almighty God must be understood in the mind of every believer and follower of Christ. The church is not the ingenuity of man. It has it's orgin in the Mind of God and godly leadership is vital in Christ's plan to build His Church. There is this idea that a leaders we can change God's idea, blueprint, pattern and leadership. God did not conceive this beautiful idea and then turn it over to the ingenuity of man to come up with a plan to make it work (Hebrews 8:5). Leaders in the church must know God's way of doing things.

It is in the church where all of God's intened purposes wll come to realization. The church will be used as God's operation and through the church God will bring us to completion, maturity, perfection and to the fullness of His intended purposes. God is using the church to bring humanity back ino right relationship to God, into the true fellowship and function of the church's mission in the earth. It will be the church that God will use to deal finally with Satan (Matthews 16:19-19, Roman 16:20). He will use the church to rule and reign with Him throughout eternity (Revelation 20:6). Godly leadership is vital in this process.

Church is not somewhere you go, but something you become a part of.  Jesus is the founder and head of the church and we are the body. It is comprised of 1)... the Universal Church (the body of believers everywhere) and 2)... the Local or Cell Church - (the body of believers in a certain geographic area). The above passage from Matthew 16:18, is the first time the word "church" is mentioned anywhere in the Bible. It was used here by Jesus, the founder and head of the Church, so it is not man's invention or idea. It is solely the invention and idea of God, so we need to keep this idea in mind if we are going to effectively serve as the church and fulfill the purpose for which Christ established it.

The beauty of what Christ intended was that each person would learn directly from Scripture and church leaders such as: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers were given as gifts to the Church...

"...to perfect the saints, so that the body of Christ may be built up. Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

(Ephesians 4:11-13)

Church leaders are not given to lord or rule over over the Church (body of believers), but to nurture and help them to grow. Our focus is on this mission, not on personalities within the Church. As followers and disciples of Christ, we want to touch our world with the life and power of Christ that resides in us through the indwelling presence of the Holy Sprit. Because if the application of our Christian walk and worship is limited primarily to buildings or corporate meetings we will miss opportunities to touch the lives of those outside of the traditional church and certainly would have little or no impact on the rest of the world.

About Us

We are planting at least 49 cell churches across the southeastern states of SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA and TN which meet weekly from house to house for teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer, as well as, monthly for Corporate Worship and Training wherever there are at least 12 people connected in a geographic area.

Foundational Scripture

"Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those that were being saved."

(Acts 2:46-47)

There is a reason why Jesus disciples met from house to house. You see the Church as Jesus knew it was to be an organism (a living thing), by which people would come to know God through dynamic relationships with others who had come to know Him; not an organization. In other words the church would be comprised of individual cells, just like our natural body is that when combined make a whole body. That is why the church is called the "Body of Christ and each small group or "cell church", serves not only to deepen relationships, but also to reach the un-churched in a personal manner.

Experiencing Life Together

Cell Church is more than just a small-group Bible study, as they provide an ongoing network of relationships for new and growing Christians. The emphasis being that we are all members of one body, with gifts differing accordingly as the Holy Spirit has distributed them. There is no need to compete with organized religion or main stream churches or denominations, because cell churches are in fact a vital part of it and serve as a living expression of what Christ intended when He started His church.
